“God’s Army”



A little while ago, my son was constantly asking me about my experiences when I was serving the army still. And of course being a typical boy, he was only interested about as to what weapon I was using, how many people I have killed (?), and in which war I was participating and did I got wounded in the process or not…? Frankly speaking I wasn’t sure as to where to start with my story telling regarding my experiences in the army and as for many men, some of us have good memories and some of us have not so good memories within those chapters of our lives.



I choose to give him the “lighter” details of my two and half years of journey in uniform and looking at his little face, it’s really made an impact and impression on him, imagining his dad doing what soldiers need to do. Voiding of course in my story telling some of the not so nice experiences, made me realize that my self is still a soldier today…



Yes, I am still going out to do battles. Everyday… and I am in it to win it. For Him…And His Instruction to His soldiers is written in the Book of Life…



Written in Ephesians chapter 6; 13-17 and said…



Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.(NLT)



What a uniform to wear….available in all sizes, big or small.



And still looking at that little face of his with all the thoughts behind it, I told him that he is also a soldier and we are both called, as father and son, to serve in one army.
