Tender drops of rain touched my marv'ling face
as though kisses and giggles of a niece,
like needles from the sky shot towards me
painlessly pricking, washing hastily.

Slim raindrops from heav'n dancing with the wind
going to and fro, down and down their aim.
A child took its bath, show'ring with delight
amidst many drops of heaven's storage-might.

Little raindrops come, bringing the clouds down
cov'ring hills and plains and somebody's frown,
coating green grasses of life and clear dew,
quenching, healing, soothing earth-cracks in view.

Let the pools that you make speak of your worth
as every ripple dances back and forth.
Come again, gently, simple gift from heaven,
that grace may draw out beauty once again.
