The Holy Spirit
The other day I was watching the biggest loser a weight management programme. The finalist were running a 26 miles marathon, at about the last 4 miles they became tired, weak, physically in pain, emotional drained, losing focus and ready to quit. They were not running any more, just taking slow tiny steps. It was at this point of the race that something unique happened to these contestant. Their favourite relatives with whom they had the greatest bond with or the show previous winners who had inspired them the most was suddenly at the roadside and started running with them . The contestant first reaction was one of recognition of the person, then surprise. There was an immediate transformation in the contestant mental state, they were suddenly energised with new strength, renewed self-confidence and they literally started to run faster, the race was back on, the finish line was in sight. It was at this point of the programme that I experienced a revelation of the Holy Spirit and his work in our lives. The contestant family and hero signify a visual representation of the Holy Spirit coming along side us in the darkest point of our lives.
On lives journey, our lives experiences always start with a clear vision of our goals, full of self belief, knowing we will overcome any obstacles we may face.
However, life daily pressures, disappointment, divorce, sickness, bereavement, debit, wars, natural disasters tear at the core of our emotions, mind and spirit. We become tired, full of fear; loose our appetite, anxious and not able to sleep. Here is where the heart turns to the Holy Spirit the promise comforter, friend, who is with you. Know you are not alone at these times of your life. He cares and understands, he sustains, renew our strength and joy, gives you a new hope, a new vision, wisdom and knowledge to move your life forward again. Just have a conscious awareness that he is with you and for you so together you can finish the race of life.
