HOW ARE YOU DOING? We men have issues, struggles and hurts. Some look at porn. Some have left their wife and children, or are out of work. Men are experiencing anger problems, low self-esteem, depression, addictions, parenting difficulties, financial problems, job or vocational issues, and relational or marriage struggles. Many of these same men are sitting in our churches, but no one knows it, and they are not telling anyone. No man has it all together, all of the time, in every single area. (Women have these problems too, but I am specifically talking to men here.)

Yet, I believe that all men, deep in their character, want to be good providers, good examples to their families, and respected by others. Consider these four foundational truths:

1. Everyone desires a second chance in life.

2. Everyone desires a life of more than just existing.

3. Everyone desires a life free from continual and constant conflicts.

4. Everyone desires a chance to experience a full, meaningful, purposeful and productive life.


Men, where is your life heading? If it is not going anywhere in some area there is a reason for it. It is not easy for any man to admit his weaknesses. We are supposed to be strong and able to handle anything, right? Who says? Society? Our egos? The 3 most difficult words to say are: I NEED HELP, followed by the words: I'm sorry. However, honesty brings healing. You may also need to ask forgiveness and work things out with another person.

Change what is within your control to do something about. This might mean counseling, reading books, taking an anger management class, changing how you use your time, changing your living environment, or getting a new set of friends.

Then rely upon God's power to help you change. Call upon the Lord and "cast your care upon Him."
