The Street in my heart (part 1) (4-27-11)

I walk down the street that lies within my heart.

The street lamps cast an ere and very sinister

green glow upon the wet...no, drenched, cobble

street.

I kneel down because I could have sworn I saw

something written one of the cobble stones. I stared

at each one but one word stared blatantly back in

my face, one that brought back such a horrible memory

that I have tried so much to forget. But there it was again.



I stumbled backwards trying to stand,

but I couldn't because as I fumbled for some

sanity, I looked and there were more

stones that had words on them. Each word was different

but really, they were the same!



I stood up trying to regain some nerve but tears broke my

facade and rendered me visible.



The words.....those hurtfull, mean, true words, were all

the things that I've said and havee done! Every evil thought.

Every thoughtless act, or purposed act, was there for anyone

to see. Every sinful discretion was here on this cobble

stoned street.

I turn and run because if I don't have to see it, then really

it doesn't exist, right?

While running I feel freedom. I feel the wind rushing past

and have finally escaped the horror that had been out for my blood.

I look backwards to make for sure that it's really gone, I then

turn my head back forward with thoughts of peace, when again I am

faced with an all new horror.............................
