There was a phrase going over and over in my mind this week: "strategic delay." Don't know if I read it somewhere, or God dropped it in my mind. Did you ever wonder why something didn't happen when you thought it should have? I have. I wondered why it took so long to sometimes see the answers to my prayers; or the fulfillment of things God had spoken into my life; or even reaping the benefits of the really hard work I had put into something.

It can be discouraging if you don't understand that God is in control! He sometimes causes "strategic delay." He knows the perfect timing for things in our lives; when everything is perfectly in place to bring about the best results. Ecclesiastes chapter1 is all about God's timing. He created the seasons in the earth and I believe He also creates the seasons in our life.

Read something not too long ago that said:
"Every stage of our lives, when put in God's hands, is leading us to that which is more perfect!"

That is a powerful statement which also lines up with Romans 8:28:
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."

God sees the "big picture." And He has a plan for you! Jeremiah 29:11 contains a promise:

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

You can trust Him! Just do what you know to do and leave the rest to Him. His timing is perfect. We used to sing a little song with the kids when I taught the children's choir years ago and it is still true!

"I've never known the Lord to take, one minute longer or to be a minute late; to fulfill His plan and His will...He's always just in time!"

You can count on it! Just trust Him. He will prove Himself trustworthy!
