“One Moment”

Meet Darrel and Tonya.

Darrel and Tonya were married about a year ago; they dated for 2 years before deciding to make that big step towards becoming one in the eyes of God. Darrel is a college graduate and obtained his Master’s Degree in Computer Visual Arts. After graduation Darrel started his own Computer Game Company, and has been very successful for the last 4 years, with a staff of 6 people. However, Darrel has put his entire life savings into his business and finally has reached a point where he can say, “Life is good”!

Tonya is a graduate from college, and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She is currently studying for her Master Degree. She also works part-time from home selling and trying to promote her own bath and body line.

Darrel and Tonya have no kids, but live a very semi lavish lifestyle because of Darrel’s business accomplishments. Darrel’s oath to his wife is very serious to him and it is very important for him to work and bring home the beacon so Tonya would want for nothing, and believe me she does not. They are deeply in love with each other and know that God has blessed them. However, because Darrel currently has to spend 12-16 hours working his business which includes traveling and lots of meetings. He is not home a lot, however when he is home Tonya is his focal point, but he still keeps an eye on what’s going on with the business.

A typical day home for Darrel is to make sure flowers are delivered to his wife, a professional massage at home, nails done, hair done, couple of new outfits, shoes and handbags to match. Dinner, a movie, play whatever Tonya wants, because Darrel is fully dedicated to her and is willing to do the right thing to grow and build a family and a financially stable home front.

Tonya is a very smart girl, she knows what she wants and is not far from getting to where she needs to be to become a successful workmate to Darrel. However, Tonya has a little more time home alone, because Darrel is always working. With a five bedroom home, pool, huge garden, her part-time business and studying, for some reason this is still not enough to keep her mind focused in the right direction. After the sixth month into the marriage Tonya stopped praying, reading her Bible, and stopped studying what she promised to God and Darrel, to be a Virtuous Women.

Tonya started to show interest in something that she never did before, the Gardener and the new plants he was planting. These were plants that Darrel had shipped in from overseas to surprise her. There was one very small plant that was in the shipment that needed to be planted with a special chemical so the thorns would not remain poisonous. As the Gardener was working quickly to get the plant in the ground with the appropriate chemical mix, he was interrupted by Tonya asking questions. The Gardener told Tonya that the plants were a surprise for her and that he needed to get them in the ground before her husband got home for the day. Instead of letting the Gardner do his job per her husband’s request, Tonya decides that she did not like the little plant and wanted it to take back to the house. The Gardner told Tonya, “I tell you what, allow me to plant it and when your husband comes home, discuss this with him and I will come back and up root the plant for you, OK”. Tonya rolled her eyes and proceeded back to the house.

As she paced back and forth in the family room watching the Gardener, she heard herself thinking, this is my house and if I don’t want that ugly plant in my garden then he should listen to what I say. “Talk to my husband, he is Never HERE, talk to my husband”! I run the show when he is not here! A SURPRISE; PLANTS AS A SURPRISE; I DON’T EVEN GO IN THE GARDEN THAT MUCH, WHY WOULD HE WANT TO SURPRISE ME WITH SOMETHING LIKE THAT! Surprise me with another pair of those designer shoes, that’s what I need, how dare he!!!!!

About 2 hours later the Gardner knocked on the back door to inform Tonya that he had finish. He also stipulated again, “once you talk to your husband about the plants and you both agree that you do not want the little plant anymore, just tell your husband to give me a call and I will up root the plant and replace it with something that will coordinate with the landscaping”, OK? Tonya looks at him with her arms crossed, rolls her eyes and slammed the door shut. She watches the Gardner pull out of the huge circular driveway onto the main road. For some reason Tonya became very angry of the thought of what happened, and for some reason she could not get that little plant off her mind.

Out of anger, she heads to the garden to get the plant. When she walks up on the plant she noticed that the Gardener had covered the plant with some type of net. She grabbed the net and plant and proceeded to pull and pull, the plant came out of the ground so hard that she fell backwards on her bottom and the wet fertilizer splattered in her face and mouth. By now Tonya was really mad and covered in dirt. She rushes to the garage to discard the plant. As Tonya pass by the pool to get to the garage, she started feeling dizzy, she stops and takes a deep breath and tries to get her balance together. As she started to walk again she dropped the plant and fell into the pool.

When Tonya woke up she was in a hospital room. She suffered a serious blow to the head which paralyzed her from the neck down, and will need lung treatments from her inhaling the toxins from the plant and getting the chemically treated fertilizer in her month upon her falling.

When the police questioned Darrel, he told the police that he thought she was at Bible Study which she attended every week. I had the Gardener come to the house specifically around the time she would be at Bible Study so I could surprise her with the new plants. I got the new plants and had them planted right away because I had planned to build her a small office building for her bath and body product line in the garden. I talked to our accountant last month and her product line hit a $500,000 mark in sells. She would have been able to use some of the plants for her new organic line. The little plant was a plant that would sit in front of her office window for inspiration and to remind her how much I loved her. The plant takes 24 hours to become nonpoisonous and blooms up to 50 feet. I just don’t understand why she was not at Bible Study like normal; she really never went to the garden without me.

“The One Moment”

Girlfriend do you remember the story of Adam and Eve? Never stray from the one that has and will always take care of you, for sometimes we may think we are strong, however, there is something or someone out there, that is stronger and loves to destroy what God has put together. Oh, and that evil does not have to be visible, stay on your path that God has set for you, one moment off that path can change your life.
