She doesn’t get it; she doesn’t know
Why her spirit man no longer grows
Why her blessings no longer seem to flow
That the issue of the matter is within her soul

Somewhere along the line her focus was lost
She let go of God and stopped praying like she ought
Angry and bitter, resentful and confused, she no longer fought
For her peace, her mind state, and her sanity became the cost

She lost what she felt was everything that mattered
She drowned in depression; every day becoming sadder and sadder
Angry at God for allowing these things; her faith now shattered
She felt empty and alone, broken beyond repair, bruised and battered

Despondency and trepidation were the places that she dwelled
Pushing everyone and everything away as her pride began to swell
In this place of discontent and solitude; not a soul would she tell
Of this place she brought herself to, this perilous, precarious hell

How does she get out; what does she do
Too angry to allow herself to be ministered to
Any counseling whatsoever she adamantly refused
She seemingly would rather stay in this place, acting completely obtuse

She has lost her relationship with God, but this is the process
The breaking down to rebuild to bring her soul back to wholeness
Her soul has been tied to the wrong things; that’s why all the emptiness
She has to seek God and surrender her entirety, her being, her complete self


Proverbs 4:5-7 Get wisdom and understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
