As the crowd cheers
I feel the emotions start to stir again
I feel the flashback of what happened
To what I thought would end my career
To what I thought would end my life
……………….
That man should have never gotten into his car
Why would your risk your life and others over a couple of drinks
No not a couple….
That man had more than a few
The cop told me he was 3 times over the legal limit
Because of that man I almost lost my life
……
I didn’t lose my legs
But
I did lose the feeling in both
&
And that’s about the same thing to a dancer
I LOST HOPE when the doctor told me I would never dance again
I asked God many times why it would happen to me
And He would always answers:
I HAVE A PLAN FOR YOU
I thought that was all a joke
… Until one day I sneezed and my toes curled…
I looked at my mom and my dad called the doctor in
I saw a hint of HOPE & LIGHT
In my life that felt so DARK
….
After MONTHS of physical therapy and many days of praying
I COULD WALK AGAIN
I was more determined to prove everyone wrong and God RIGHT
As I dance I stand there and feel the freedom that God has given me
The freedom to DANCE
The freedom to show his love
I found Gods plan for me
It was to show that YOU NEVER LOSE HOPE
God graced me with the gift to dance
….
I realize that I’m crying when the tears hit the floor and my mom gives me a hug
She ask me why I’m sad
And I tell her that I’m not.
Its tears of joy
Tears of hope
And tears of love
While one man tried to end my life
God saved it
And for that I’m so thankful
And I will always praise him as the crowd cheers
