Poetry
This is a paraphrase of the address of Jesus to the Laodicean Church. Revelation 3: 13 – 22.
Laodicea listen to Me,
you say you are rich,
that you have no needs.
You’ve spent all your time
gaining wealth by selling
the eye salve that you sell.
You are calloused
and comfortable
with your god Greed,
while toward Me being
neither hot nor cold, you’re
a perfect temperature
for growing mold.
While you are thinking that
you have everything, and it’s
gotten by your hand, you are
blind and dull and you
don’t understand that
you are naked, and wretched,
poor, miserable, and blind.
You need your eye salve
to heal your eyes, so that
you can see and realize that
you are not dressed in the
white cloth of righteousness,
and your gold is full of dross.
I warn you to recall that
I rebuke and chastise all
whom I love and receive;
so be careful to repent
and turn again to Me.
Look! I’m standing here
at the door, I am asking
to come in, I’m waiting
for you to respond, to invite
Me in to eat with you and
you with Me; and when you
over come, I will give you to
sit with Me in My Throne.
Many feel that the American Church has been lulled into complacency by the wealth we have gotten, because our eyes have been focused on the gaining of riches for a few decades. Who can deny it?
The Lord rewards righteous living. What does it mean to be seated with Him in His Throne?
Does it mean to own all He owns? Does it mean to be His arm as He is the Father’s arm?
Yes, it would be the true fulfillment of all we desire, and which are trying to gain in the wrong places and by the wrong methods.
Should we wake up and repent?
