True story: the other day at a restaurant I ordered a GRILLED ham
and cheese sandwich. The waiter said, "Do you want it toasted?"
Duh. That's sort of like ordering a new car and having the
salesman say, "Do you want it with a steering wheel."

Obvious answers to obvious questions aren't always so obvious.
We tend to overlook the obvious and seek for something
mysterious. It's done all the time in Bible studies, and that's one
reason why we have so many denominations and in a worse case
scenario, so many cults. Some folks insist on making the
Scriptures say something other than what God intended, and a
simple truth comes out as some mysterious hidden meaning that a
certain group believes they have a corner on interpreting.

The Bible doesn't need unique interpreting -- it needs acceptance.
We need to take God at His word and accept it without always
wanting to twist it and interpret it into what we think it should be.
Anything God really wants you to know, He has made quite clear.

When you are discouraged, God says, (Psa. 31:24) "Be strong and
take courage, all you who put your hope in the Lord" -- doesn't
need interpreting, just believe it. When you are sad, God says (Psa.
42:11), "Why am I discouraged? Why so sad? I will put my hope
in God! I will praise Him again -- my Savior and my God" No
interpreting, just believe it. Treat the entire Bible the same way --
you'll be happier for it.
