Faith

"For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."
Mark 11:23

Early on in my walk with God through Christ, I was taught that I could -- no -- would have what I said. "Name it and Claim it," the naysayers called us. "Blab it and Grab it," we agreed. For we understood, and more importantly, stood under, the truth that "through faith...the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." (Hebrews 11:3)

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. But when he found the earth without form and void and darkness upon the face of the deep, God said: "Let there be light." (Genesis 1:1-3) Jesus told the disciples, in their misguided quest for increased faith, that "if" they had faith...they "might say" some things. (Luke 17:5,6) Truly this walk of faith is paved with confession. Which leads me to my point. A paved way is useless, if people insist on sloshing through the mud and the brush -- walking contrary to their talk.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me." (John 14:6) And yet, men insist on making their own way. That is understandable enough for sinners who would rather try living by bread alone. But what of believers like you and me, who have declared the way, then routinely choose not to follow it?

How many times have I said; "By his stripes I'm healed," or "God supplies all my need?" Then, with the way proclaimed and all of creation in motion, I turn to the weak and beggarly arm of flesh and slosh my muddy self in the opposite direction -- my heart departing from the Lord. (Galatians 4:9 /Jeremiah 17:5) "Follow The Confession!!" That is what the Lord said to me. "Follow The Confession!!" That is what I say to you.

Integrity (wholeness) has long been characterized by doing what one says. "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" (Numbers 23:19) Mary proclaimed; "Behold the hand maiden of the Lord. Be it unto me according to thy word." (Luke 1:38) Peter let down one net, claiming to be moved at Jesus' word. Unfortunately, Jesus' word had summoned enough fish to fill all of Peter's nets and so his sinking feeling began. (Luke 5:1-7)

You have been confessing the word for years -- saying what Jesus said. Accordingly, a path is made ready for you, lit by the light of that word. Walk in that light. Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a declared draught. Like the younger son who had to gather his increase after his father had given the word, you must believe that you have received and walk into what has been proclaimed. And when fear and doubt and indecision come to make your way unclear, remember: Follow The Confession!
