God’s Mercies

Lamentations 3:22-23 “It is of the LORD'S mercies that we
are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” (KJB)

Because of God’s mercies that are new every day,
God tempers His actions when we go astray.
He regards us with love all along the way.
The same love sent Christ, our redemption to pay.

Our God does not change with the wind as we do.
His love, always constant, His judgments are true.
Just where would we be if God’s mercies weren’t new?
No hope for the future would be in our view.

Praise should be endless for new mercies each day.
The weight of our sins have been taken away.
He remembers our feet are made out of clay.*
Like sheep we are prone to wander astray.**

Do you know this Savior whose mercies are new?
Or are you in hiding because judgment is due?
His arms are wide open to welcome you too
By faith in God’s Son who will cleanse through and through.

* Psalm 103:12-14 “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath
he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his
children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth
our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.” (KJV)

** Isaiah 53:6 “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned
every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the
iniquity of us all.” (KJV)
