Everyone fails at one thing or the other but the courage to get back up and get it right is what must be saluted! A failure can become a feat accomplished if there is determination not to back down because of fear or shame.
Failure is not something that needs a bogus explanation or description because everyone does experience it at one time or the other as life progresses. So failure is simply falling short of expectation, desired intention and effort towards a target. You can't be said to have failed if there is no target expected to be hit.
When the Bible wanted to describe the failure of mankind in respect to God's expectations, it simply said "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Man failed God because he fell short of expectations.
What did God do? He gave man another golden opportunity to get it right again through Jesus Christ. All men once failed but the wise seized the golden opportunity of second chance and returned to God by accepting Jesus.
Failure is a golden opportunity because you are supposed to have learnt some important lessons in a more profound way, when you failed at an attempt. You must have learnt another new way not to go about your endeavor or pursuit when you fail at something you sincerely attempted. The golden rule for failure is this: When you fail or fall pick up something - learn something significant from what your ignorance, mistakes and misunderstanding has brought to you.
This is the golden opportunity failure presents you: It puts you ahead in a class filled with new set of students who are just starting off the same thing you attempted, because you have an experience they don't have and has learnt a golden lesson, as you have traveled the route before and know where the pot holes are as you are driving through again.
Know for sure it is not a shame to fail where you sincerely did your best. It is not a thing to fear because every man make mistakes, experience misunderstanding with situations and even are ignorant about certain things. This mistakes, misunderstandings and ignorance are all the bedrock of failure which is common with every man.
When you sincerely fail by making reasonable efforts and you get back up again, believe it, you have made progress because you are approaching success which is at the far end of failure. When you begin at a point and you make a move at an endeavor without fear, even if you fail at that attempt and get back up to move again towards that goal, you have just moved closer towards the end where success is, and that is progress.
As you fail and get back up looking and moving towards success, the journey from your position to success has just been reduced. Imagine when you fail and because of fear and shame you withdraw back, you have just increase the gap between yourself and success.
The Bible says "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). Your failures, your efforts, your determination and your sincerity in your endeavor, looking unto Jesus Christ will work things together for your good, if you faint not and keep trusting in the wisdom of God that is always available.
The Bible also says: "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand" (Psalm 37:23-24).
"For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again..." (Proverbs 24:16).
Failing is not about sin, although at times it could be nor is it about you not just being good enough, because the Bible says even the Just man can at times not get it right. But all is about the Lord helping us through. Jesus is too faithful to fail when you completely trust him.
When you fail, it doesn't mean you are a failure, it means you can do better again! Failing doesn't make you a failure! But not attempting keeps you a failure.
Remember: the greatest challenge of a baby learning to walk is the fear of falling. Once the baby overcomes the fear and starts learning to walk, he goes from walking to running. Life teaches us that a baby learning to walk falls severally but once the baby keeps getting up and keeps trying, he eventually gets it right and goes from walking to running. This is actually how personally you have learnt to walk as a man.
Keep trying again and again and again, even if you've failed, there is every tendency that you will eventually get it right just like a small baby learning to walk does.
