THE BIBLE

What is your bible for? Do you open it just when you go to Church and the days preacher asks you to open it to a certain text? Or perhaps you do not even carry it when you go to worship. Many Christians love their Bibles. They are clean, expensively bound and coated and put on the topmost drawer in their homes where they store their priceless possessions.
The Bible was inspired by God the Holy Spirit. It is Gods revelation of himself to man. It is also God's easy to read guide on how to operate 'life'. Yea it is the Makers How-to for life and every issue you could possibly face. But because of the difficulties that may arise because of external interference, you need to be in a group of other Bible reading and trusting people to understand and be able to apply fully its texts.
When you write a love letter to someone whose love you are soliciting, you tell them about yourself, possibly what you can do for them and if you are not newly acquainted what you have ever done for them. And you open the channels of communication so that they can be able to freely speak with you.
What is it in your life that you are facing that the word of God does not answer to? God's love letter covers everything that could possibly ever touch your life and what you need to do is find it and apply to your situation.

Christ said that no one will ever enter the Kingdom of God unless they became like little children. Trust that your all powerful Daddy in heaven is your only real Daddy and that He will do that which He has said that He can do in His love letter. He has promised that when you get out of this world after living a meritorious life, you will arrive at a home better than your wildest imagination can conceive. He will make your stay in this world worth your while. He will give you the best of the best of everything.
Children say what their parents say about a given situation. Make it a habit to repeat positive Scripture to yourself. Is it about Him hearing you? Father God of heaven has already said something about it. 'And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer believing ye shall receive.' (Mat 21:22) Is it about those ever missing finances? God promises to cause your vats to be bursting with more than enough if you believe Hun. "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches Christ Jesus" (Phil 4:19) You shall be in good health because the Bible says that by the stripes of Jesus you were healed (Is.:53:5) Never worry about anything. Take all your problems to Jesus and leave them there. You need to trust him like little children always trust their parents even when the children have no evidence that their parents can do what the youngsters claim they can do.
Search God's word for His mind about a given situation. And hang on to that word. God is many times better as a Father than any earthly father could possibly ever be (Mat 7:11)! He will never disappoint you if you repeat to Him what He says about a given situation. Oh the power there is in the word of God.

Other than in scripture God also speaks to us as we go about our everyday activities. The apostle Paul when He was in a shipwreck was able to identify the angel of God and His message (and not think that he was seeing things) and assure those who were in the ship of safety (Acts 27:23-25) With the help of the Spirit learn to discern God's voice from the others in this noisy world we live in. Never doubt the message of God. He has never failed anyone. He is the ever-present God and is always available to guide His children on all issue that may arise in their life.
Familiarize yourself with His ways by getting your Bible out of the position it occupies so far away from your must read list for everyday. Do not read it all at once. Only a very little section a day will do. Start with the gospels. Set a time to read a verse a day or do so as you wait for the plane, the train, the bus, the manager, child or doctor. Do not turn over those problems in your mind. Turn over that scripture in your mind. Ingest it, digest it, read it from different versions of the Bible, read the explanations that accompany the text in your Bible, then move over to another text.
Soon everything will change. The Bible declares that the word of God is 'indeed living and active, sharper than any two edged sword, piercing until it divides soul from spirit, joints from marrow: it is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.'(Heb 4:12) Sunday will become the most important day of your week when you go to Church to meet your best friend, your lover, your banker, your employer, your teacher, the Lord Jesus Christ.
