Rise and shine the spring has come
with shining light and greening grass;
The birds are singing happy songs
With fluttering wings and chirping sounds
Flowers are popping right and left,
Dancing in hues of wondrous robes
Rise with nature, wake up from slumber
Rise and shine the spring has come!

On the first day of creation
God said, “Let there be light”
And there was Light; But what was it?
What is that Light of the first creation?
For God created the sun and moon
Only on the fourth day
Of His creation schedule!
Think of that Light of the day of one
And rise and shine the spring has come!

Is that Light God himself?
Breathing love and life everywhere
Into the dark abyss or the void that was
Hovering over everywhere?
“And the Light shone in darkness”
Bringing joy and peace for all
As a mark of bond with all creation
So rise and shine the spring has come!

Spring is the season to find that Light!
That shines and dispels all darkness!
The world is darkened by countless sins
Causing pain and suffering to all;
Still the Incarnate Word keeps saying,
“I am the light of the world.”
Hence take courage and come to him,
And rise and shine the spring has come!

His light shines in every heart
And says to stand and shine to all;
“Let your light shine before men”
Urging us to show the brightness of love
In every word and deed of life;
Spring is the season of love and charity,
That call us for the Resurrection of Easter
Hence, rise and shine the spring has come!
