EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP 5
The easiest way to encourage people is to reward them. We will always thrive where we are appreciated. Sadly, the reverse is true. We are prone to holding back where we are constantly criticized. This is why we need to celebrate our subordinates when they successfully accomplish a task assigned to them. Reward people every time they do well. Rewarding them doesn’t necessarily imply financial remuneration. You could commend them before their contemporaries. You could speak a word of blessing into their lives. Whatever you do appreciate them.
An extreme side of encouraging people is never to criticize them even when they need it. We may feel criticism will hinder them from giving their best to the success of the vision. However that only happens when we see the flaw in everything they do. The fact is when we delegate, people may not produce the magnitude of the result we expect. In fact they may fail. This may mean we have not successfully trained them in the process of achieving the task at hand. We will need to patiently go through the process with them. Make it an habit to correct people in love. That way they will do a better job next time.
Get ready for unprecedented success in your organization as you raise leaders through the power of delegation.
