Now Mama didn't have any money
To buy us candy or a card
So we always had our valentine party
By the creek in our own back yard
Grandpa brought the pocket knives
And handed them out to the kids
Mama was watching every move we made
Peeking through her mama eyelids
We picked the biggest oak tree
To carve our lovers names
Yes box, No box, Maybe box
Written from Cindy to James
The whole dang town carved their names
All of them trying to get Julie
But Julie was already spoken for
Yep, she belongs to me (yours truly)
So if you're running out of valentines
Grab a knife and come with me
Carve Yes box, No box, Maybe box
In our Home town Valentine Tree
