A MOTHER'S LISTENING

I am listening in silence
to your tears and rending cries.

I am listening to crashing,
pounding questions as you
shout out -- w-h-y?


I am listening as you grasp
for those answers in your mind.

I am listening to the voice of
the Ageless One administering
healing to your soul.


I am listening to your laughter
as excited chatter fills the air.

I am listening of triumphant reception
to the steady beat of your heart's
own true love.

I am listening to your children, three
precious breaths of infant joy.

I am listening to melodious rhythms,
pulsating with your wonder at
desires, now fulfilled!
