There Is An Appointed Location For Uplifting

A place is a particular location. It may be a village, city or country. For everyone created by God, is appointed a place of divine upliftment. It may be someone’s place of birth or origin, or sometimes a place one migrates to, as a stranger. Father Abraham was asked to leave his family in Haran and proceed to the land of Canaan. “Now the Lord had said to Abram. Get out of your country from your family and from your fathers house to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation, I will bless you and make your name great. And you shall be a blessing. Genesis 12:1-2

Initially going to Canaan was his Father’s plan, but because, he was not destined to make that journey, they dwelt at Haran. Genesis 11:31. He, whom the Lord appointed for the journey, was Abram, and he departed in obedience to God’s word. Genesis 12:4.

Joseph was another man, God destined for greatness in a foreign land. God divinely allowed all the Schemes of his brothers to enable him arrive at the place earmarked for his upliftment. He was sold away to the Ishmaelite, who in turn re-sold him to Portiphar in Egypt. Genesis 39:1. The manner of Joseph’s arrival to his place was crude, compared to Father Abraham. But at last, he understood and recognized God’s hand in all his ordeal. He said to his brothers; “And Joseph said to his brothers, please come near to me ……………… I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. But, now do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life. …………And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you who sent me here but God and He has made me a Father to Pharaoh and Lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt. Genesis 45:4-8

Thank God, Joseph acknowledged the hand of God in all his journey and had mercy on his brothers. Many would have used the opportunity of their greatness to deal ruthlessly with their brothers or anyone whose hand is involved in their predicament. But, Joseph didn’t. the survival of Moses when children were being killed, is divine, and his Sojourn to Midian was divine arrangement. God needed to take him out of the palace of comfort into the wilderness in preparation of God’s plan for his life, as a deliverer and leader of the Israelites back to the promised land. Moses learnt the terrain of the wilderness, the skills of a shepherd and the management techniques from his Inlaw, Jethro. All these were in preparation of the task ahead.

Samuel was taken out of his father’s house as a child into Eli’s bosom to be prepared for his divine destiny. Daniel, Shedrack, Mishack and Abadnego were captives in Medes and Persia to fulfill divine plan. So it is with a lot of people. Some people have been known to be unproductive maybe in Lagos, and leave for Abuja or London to discover themselves.
