At the Dawn of a Decade, in Search of Jesus

Oh Jesus! Where have you gone? I am badly in need of you. The burdens of my daily life smother me and suffocate me. I know you will also be searching for me, your lost sheep. I am sure you will be searching for me in thorny bushes and thistles. My eyes are blind-folded. Please come to my rescue.

Jesus, where are you?

If anyone who has seen my Lord, please let me know. Please inform him I am madly in search of him.
Where is that Jesus who has been with harlots and tax collectors? Where is he who said, “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” (Mark 2:17) He should have been thinking of me when he said this.

Where is my Savior who has gone after the Lost Sheep, leaving the ninety-nine in the desert? (Matthew 8: 12) Sure, he must be in search of me.

Where is the Risen Lord who first appeared to Mary Magdalene, saying, “Woman, why are you weeping?” (John 20:15) I am also weeping in search of my Lord.

Where is my Guru who taught me to hate sin but love sinners? The whole world hates me charging me with so many defects and sins. But I know only you can understand me better than anybody else. Only your Love, Mercy and understanding can rescue me from all the snares that have entangled me.

I can be proud only of that magnanimous Judge who challenged the hard-hearted men about to stone to death a woman caught at adultery, saying, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” (John 8:7)

At the dawn of a new decade, I need the divine light of Bethlehem. My blind-folded eyes fail to see anything. The encircling obscurity around me totters my steps. Like the blind man at the Jericho roadside, I am shouting, “Jesus, Son of David, please enable me to see.”

I am sure my Lord will find me out. I am sure he will take me in his hands. I am sure he will cure my blindness and enable me to look at him, my Most Beloved Jesus!
