It is sadly unfortunate that most Christian in the world want nothing to do with prosperity, they think and believe that it is a sin for a Christian to be prosperous and the only way they can get to heaven is to remain poor. They erroneously quote (Mark 10:25) "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." but forget to look at the preceeding verses. Now (Mark 10:21) declared that "Then Jesus beholding him loved him," and this must be for obeying God's commandement and prospering from it. Yes God loves his children who keeps his commandement and He also prosper them because you cannot observe and not receive.

I have searched through the bible and I have discovered that it is God's divine will for his children to prosper, infact He made a convenant of prosperity with Abraham that will ensure the prosperity of his people on earth. (Genesis 12:1-4), (Genesis 17:1-10). You may argue, that was a covenant of old, well when Christ came and died, He not only connected us to the old covenant of prosperity but brought us to a new convenant that speaks better things (Hebrews 12:24.) Christ not only redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us but also connected us to the Abrahamic covenant of blessing (Galatians 3:13-14,16,26,29). From the following scriptures we can clearly see that anyone connected to Christ is also connected to the Abrahamic covenant of multiplication and prosperity.

Again I have found in the scripture that God keep reminding his people on the need for them to walk inline with the covenant so that they can receive the blessings that comes with it and not only that, also be a blessing to others. Friends, you cannot be a blessing beyond the blessing of God that is at work in your life, and that blessing is proportional to the level of God's knowledge at work in your life and your wisdom compliance to spiritual laws and principles.
God bless the poor and the rich alike but prosper the generous because through the generous, God delivers to the poor his daily bread. And you must be rich in other to have enough to be generous. (Proverbs 22:9) says "Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor." (Proverbs 19:17) "Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will repay him for his deed." which means, there is the poor which receives from the rich and there is the rich who is generous.

Now coming to the question "If it is God's will for us christian to be rich?" the answer is Yes. The bible clearly states it in
(3 John 1:2) "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth". All things that pertain to live and godly living has been purchased by Christ for the church, they are all ours. (2 Peter 1:3) "According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that [pertain] unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:" Also in (Psalm 35:27) David declared "Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant." so God takes pleasure in our prosperity not in our poverty.

Salvation, Prosperity, Divine health, Divine protection etc are all ours. Now why would you want to choose only salvation when you can have access to all things?. Christ has paid the price, He was made poor that we through his poverty might be rich. (2 Corinthians 8:9). There is no virtue in deciding to remain poor so that you can make heaven, you can be rich and still make heaven. God created us for dominion and authority, and you know that the rich ruleth over the poor, (Proverbs 22:7) "The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower [is] servant to the lender." the poor has no dominion.

You can have righteousness, redemption, sanctification and prosperity at the same time, infact the righteousness rich man will also remain prosperous all through his live and his generation shall remain blessed. (Psalm 112:2) "His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed." Now in the same (Psalm 112:9) it says "He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour." Now, the poor cannot give to the poor, can he? Again watch what the bible says about this man, it says "his righteousness endureth for ever" which means that not only is he prosperous, but he has secured an everlasting righteousness for himself...Praise the Lord.

In (1 Corinthians 1:30) the bible stated "But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:" This means that Christ in us not only secure our salvation and righteousness but is wisdom unto us. When we talk about wisdom in the bible, the first person that comes to people's mind is King Solomon. Understand that Solomon is not the only wise man in the bible, there were many of them. And Solomon is not the wisest in the bible, he was only the wisest of men that lived in the old testament. Apart from Solomon, there are other noteable men that displayed God's wisdom. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Daniel, all displayed the wisdom of God and one common trait with these men is that they prospered. Friends, the wisdom of God bring wealth and riches. (1 Kings 10:24) say of the man Solomon "So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom. And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart." Of Isaac the bible recorded in (Genesis 26:12) "Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him."

Wisdom endows the holder with wealth and riches and how available is this wisdom unto us believers? before I answer this question, let me quickly explain why Solomon is not the wisest in the bible. In (Luke 7:28) talking about the prophet John the Baptist Jesus said "For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist:" which means that John the Baptist was greater than Solomon but interestily Jesus went further to say "but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he." that means the smallest in the kingdom of God under the new covenant far exceed John in strength and Solomon in wisdom. Also Jesus Asserted concerning Himself "..a greater than Solomon is here" (Matthew 12:42). Jesus clearly operated at the frequency of divine knowledge that even the people exclaimed "What wisdom is this?" (Mark 6:2; Matthew 13:54). Now we understand by scriptures that we are sent by Jesus "..as my Father hath sent me, even so I send you" (John 20:21, John 17:18). This clearly point out that there is more wisdom deposits inside the redeemed than there was in Solomon.

So how do believer lay hold of this wisdom? well It is already in you, you only covet and develop it. For Christ has been made unto us wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:30). and since we are in Christ and Christ in us (John 17:21,23) we have access to the wisdom of Christ. For salvation to be possible, a man must accept Jesus as his Lord and personal saviour by believing with his heart and confessing with his mouth (Romans 10:9-10), in same way for a believer to operate in the wisdom of Christ that is already resident in him or her, a believe with the heart is necessary together with a confession with the mouth. In (James 1:5-6), the bible state that you receive wisdom by asking of God and asking in faith, and faith has to do with believing with the heart and confessing with the mouth.

Now I must clearly state that wisdom like every other spiritual gift has to be coveted and cultivated before it can grow but that's not the subject of this message. Wisdom that ensure continue wealth and riches is part of what Jesus is unto us, so for a believer to choose only salvation is an error. We must endeavor to partake of all God has made available to us through Christ Jesus, and prosperity is one of them and is very essential, for through the greatness of thy power shall the enemies submit to you, and greatness in our present world has a prosperity rig tune in it. Prosperity for the church is an important thing, not just because it is our inheritence in Christ Jesus nor for the welfare of the church but more important for promoting the gospel to the ends of the earth and taking care of the poor. The last instruction our Lord Jesus left the church with is "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations;" (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:15). It requires the finacial prosperity of the body of Christ for this mandate to be carried out effectively. So yes it is God's will for the believers to be prosperous and any believer not partaking of this covenant right should quickly get acquainted with the Word of truth and find out what it says and the terms of the covenant.
