“Certainly is quiet tonight, Lawrence.”

“You’re right, Jefferson, but, something doesn’t seem right sheep are restless, dogs too. Maybe we should sing to them. Is Spencer still on the flank?” Lawrence said.

“Far as I know,” said Jefferson. “I haven’t heard anything from him for awhile. He might be taking a quick nap, is getting close to morning.”

“Jefferson, look at the sky, what is that?” Lawrence said.

Jefferson was down on his knees, and said, “don’t know, but I’ve never seen a brighter light than what surrounds him. Here comes Spencer running full speed, hope he doesn’t trip.”

“Guys, this is strange,” Spencer said. “That thing in the sky, the light around him, I’m scared, but the dogs and sheep are quiet, and they seemed nervous a minute ago. Something different is happening,”

Lawrence said, “Do you think it’s an angel?” All three men were quiet, mouth’s open, and eyes immoveable as if pasted to the sky.

The angel spoke, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Luke 2: 10-12 NASB.

Oh, goodness, now look at the sky,” said Spencer “I can’t see the stars there are so many angels, and they’re glorifying God and singing, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace among men with whom He is pleased.” Luke 2: 14 NASB. Wow, how bright, but a soft bright the sky is. Let’s go into town and see this baby.”

“Let’s go, let’s go, it’ll be ok. It’s almost morning, predators will be headed to their dens, and the dogs will watch the sheep. These are temple sheep, so we’re only about half-a-mile out of town, we’ll be back soon, said Jefferson.”

The three shepherds rushed into Bethlehem, and as the angel forecast they found the Christ child lying in a manger. They began telling everyone they saw that the angel told them “there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Those who heard wondered what the shepherds were talking about.

However, Mary cherished these riches and locked each experience in her heart, for future reference. Luke 2: 19 NASB.
