Born a King – Died for Sin

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

A feeding trough for cattle was where the Lord was born.
Upon the mount called Calv’ry was where His flesh was torn.
He was the great Creator. The universe His plans.
Out of the dust of earth, He formed man with His hands.

They turned their back on God and thus began man’s fall.
Though heaven was His home, for us He left it all.
He came to bring God’s love as a sacrifice for sin.
Thus begins the story with no room there at the inn.

He was the gift of God to cleanse away sin’s blot.
He came unto His own but His own received Him not. *
With bitter scorn and hatred, before Herod He was led.
There a tangled crown of thorns was forced down on His head.

They mocked the Prince of Glory. Their hatred new no shame.
They cursed God’s only Son and profaned His holy name.
They did not just reject Him, to their eternal loss,
But crucified God’s Son by nailing Him to a cross.

What would you have done had you been there on that day?
Pray for God’s forgiveness or turn and walk away?
They rejected Christ the Lord. Will you reject Him too?
The question must be answered. With Christ, what will you do?

* John 1:10-12 “He was in the world, and the world was made by him,
and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own
received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power
to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” (KJV)
