Virgin Mary blessed of women
The mother of the Promised One
Watches o'er the sleeping baby
Like any other loving mum.

Choirs of angels fill the night-sky
The vast expansive heavens throb
Giving glory to the Father
For the new-born Son of God.

Shepherds watch the brilliant chorals,
The very first to hear the news-
There is born One, Christ the Saviour
The Messiah of the Jews.

An eastern star speaks to wise men-
The time has come; they know the sign-
Leave their homes to cross the desert
To worship Him Who is divine.

Modern people celebrating
The Christmas season every year
Know the basics of the story
But is the meaning lost in 'cheer'?

Let Christ Jesus be our focus;
Consider what His coming meant-
God incarnate in a manger,
For mankind's redemption sent.
