Some Trying Times

Have you ever considered how much trouble that we get our selves into just because we did not seek first His kingdom and wait for His counsel? The word tells us that he will lead and guide us into all truth. Are we willing to wait to hear from him or do must we just go our own way and trust in our thinking and abilities?

A friend of mine just had his van wrecked. He wasn’t driving but allowed someone else to drive it. This person had a current driver’s license, he thought. Come to find out the license had expired. He now is faced with whether or not the insurance is going to cover this accident. He only had liability so the parked vehicle that was hit won’t be covered. Often the Lord tells us things that are for our protection. Yet if we go our own way and do not seek or wait for his counsel then we are open game to the enemy to kill steal or destroy. The Bible says that sin brings forth death. You may say that there is no sin in what happened. Well in Isaiah 30 and 31 the word tells us that listening to anything other than the spirit of the Lord is rebellion and therefore is most definitely sin. I seem to be looking around and noticing the many things that are going wrong in people’s lives and why that much is happening. It is called wrong self-centered choices. We are trusting in self and our own thoughts and wisdom instead of spending time and getting into his presence and receiving his counsel. Much of the bad that happens to people could have been avoided if they would just decide to seek Him first. The Lord will lead and guide us but we must choose to have him do so. We must spend time with him. This must become of major importance to us. I think maybe the Lord is allowing much that happens so that we will realize that we need him to guide and lead us instead of trusting in our own thoughts and ways. I think if we will be honest and look back at some of the bad things that have happened to us, we will find that we made some wrong decisions and had not waited to hear from him before we acted. Patience is a good thing to have. It may save us much trouble. I would encourage all that may read this to consider spending more time seeking and waiting for his counsel before just running out and doing things. This may save you many problems and heartaches.

Pr 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
