Luke 6:40 A pupil is not superior to his teacher, but everyone [when he is] completely trained (readjusted, restored, set to rights, and perfected) will be like his teacher.

1 Cor 9:25 Now every athlete who goes into training conducts himself temperately and restricts himself in all things. They do it to win a wreath that will soon wither, but we [do it to receive a crown of eternal blessedness] that cannot wither.

In the world, no matter what it is we want to do, we have to go through training. If I want to be a doctor, or a lawyer, an artist, an writer, an architect, a designer, an engineer, an officer in some part of the service of ones country, a builder, a mechanic, or any other skill, I would have to go to college, or university, or a trade school, to receive the training, and the education for whatever it is I want to do. Even preachers have to be trained. They don’t just wake up one day, and say, hey, I think I’ll be a preacher, or God told me to be a preacher. No, if God told them anything, it was since you are called to be a preacher, it’s time to start your training. And, the training isn’t going to be easy … Let’s get to work. If you wanted to train for sports, or the Olympics, or wrestling, or boxing, lots of training would be in order. So, why is it Christians think training doesn’t apply to them? You can’t even do what you are called to do in any form without the proper training.

Matt 13:52 He said to them, Therefore every teacher and interpreter of the Sacred Writings who has been instructed about and trained for the kingdom of heaven and has become a disciple is like a householder who brings forth out of his storehouse treasure that is new and [treasure that is] old [the fresh as well as the familiar].

We have to be trained how to stop walking as a mere man in the area of our health. A mere man has to be sick like the world, go thorough the flue “season”, have colds, sore throats, headaches, problems with the teeth, aches and pains, arthritis, fear of cancer, and other various forms of disease. But, the Christian is not a mere man. No. The Christian who knows his or her covenant knows we don’t have to ever be sick. Oh my goodness, did I knock over someone’s sacred cow? Ooops. Well, we need those cows knocked over, because we are not to live like mere men, (male and female) we are to live like Jesus lived. We have a covenant with God, my brother and sister. You don’t have to be sick … ever.

Col 3:16 … as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom …

Is 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities (sins); the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.

Those lashes upon his back were so you don’t have to be sick or have any disease, or any malfunction in your body. He was bruised for your guilty heart, for your heart that condemns you when you sin, and for your sin directly, The chastisement was needful to obtain your peace; that means you don’t have to have fear, and depression. The crown of thorns was for our peace, and freedom in our minds, freedom from fear, freedom from depression.

A mere man has to put up with depression from time to time. Some have to put up with it daily. Others say, I don’t know why I’m depressed today. Hopefully, it will pass soon. And if it doesn’t pass? Maybe I can get some anti-depression pills to help it. Er … ahem. Depression is a spiritual problem, to begin with, so pills won’t help it. All they do is make your mind fuzzy, so it makes you think they are helping. They just mess up your thinking. I have good news for the Christian. You don’t have to spend your days being depressed. You don’t have to put up with a dark stormy cloud over your life, and hope and pray it will soon go away. No! We aren’t supposed to be sad, and depressed. Jesus took your depression, and sadness, so you wouldn’t have to have it all over your precious mind. Jesus is my peace. Jesus is my health and healing. Jesus is my boldness, so I don’t have to live with fears. Jesus is my righteousness, so I don’t have to put up with sin, and addictions … like a mere man.

1 Tim 4:7 … Train yourself toward godliness …

A mere man has to learn to manage his fear; he can’t get rid of it. It’s not a medical problem; it’s a spiritual problem. The only One Who can help us with getting rid of fear, depression, and addiction, and most of medical problems, is the One Who created us to begin with. Go to the Manufacture if you need to be changed, and fixed. He’s the best fix you are ever going to have. He is the best High you are ever going to experience … God is the Most High!

Heb 5:14 But solid food is for full-grown men, for those whose senses and mental faculties are trained by practice to discriminate and distinguish between what is good, and what is evil.
