1Tim 4:14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

From a human perspective, God's promises may take a very long time to fulfil. One preculiar aspect is that he does not FULLY reveal to us when or how he plans to Overturn the tables. He gives us some sort of hints that test our faith, patience and endurance. He, however, desires for us to hold on, and keep fighting on the good fight of faith!

The verse in the first letter to Timothy shows us how Paul was encouraging the young man to hold fast to what he had already been gifted with by God. Him being so merciful, Paul reminds Timothy of how Jesus Christ gave a good account of himself in front of Pontius Pilate. He stood in the truth even though advesaries were multiplying.

A Godly perspective releases the pressure we have in advesary. It tends to shift attention from us, to Him. The realisation that we are not the center of attraction in ANY problem, makes us realise that we are more than victors. Before his battles are fought, he is a winner. Now when we take our battles to be His, they become wins automatically.

Hence our steadfastness is not of what we see, its not detrmined by the things around us, or how much we can stand; It is just an acknowledgement of His plans and abilities! In Christ's name, Amen.
