Dream a Little Dream


Living in a land of make believe,
where all our dreams come true,
everything we want we achieve,
beneath the sky of radiant blue.

Rags to riches certainly is the wish,
for everyone just wants to be rich,
at supper eating our favorite dish,
after a day of working in the ditch.

Day dreams of fantasy and illusion,
occupy the corridors of our mind,
working in the mist of confusion,
thoughts help us to pass the time.

Controlled by power and greed,
we struggle daily to just survive,
money, sadly we all see the need,
land of plenty yet a great divide.

Dreams replenish our mortal soul,
in a land where reality can be cruel,
hardships of society take their toll,
and the wealth of society will rule.
