David and Goliath

In 1 Samuel 17 a giant named Goliath defied the armies of Israel. David was astonished that the Israelites allowed this to go on. David had experience with defending the sheep from wild animals, like lions and bears, so couldn’t see why a giant would be any different. Why didn’t someone just challenge the oaf and take him out, instead of letting him continue to speak that way? David was only six-teen, but on fire for God, and he knew that God was well able to destroy His enemies and protect His people. So, what is going on? Why wasn’t anyone doing anything about this idiot who dared defy the God of Israel? Since all the adults were cowards, he thought he would do it himself. He never considered they might laugh at him, being a youth. He just knew what his God had done for him in the past, taking care of his father’s sheep. Why would this be any different? People were far more important than sheep; God would help him with this as well, he surmised.

David in his imagination played out over and over how God helped him kill the lion and the bear. He would see the lion attempt to sneak up on a sheep that was unaware he was there, and then David would attack the lion instead, and kill him. Then, he would in his imagination replay how the bear had come for the sheep, and how God was with him, by helping him to kill the bear, protecting the sheep. Over and over he recalled those images of what God had done for him.

Seeing It First In Your Imagination

Jesus said that He never did anything unless He saw the Father doing it first. Jesus saw the Father with His spirit, in His imagination. The imagination is where our imaging is located. We see every action we do, first acted out in our imagination. Let’s say you want to get a meal. You will see yourself with your imagination get up and go the kitchen and prepare the meal, and then eat it, before you ever do it for real.

If you need to be healed, then you need to start seeing yourself healed. See yourself out of that wheel chair and walking. See yourself seeing without aid of glasses or contact lenses. See yourself hearing without the aid of a hearing aid. See yourself without pain without using drugs. How do you see yourself healed? Using your imagination, you can see yourself doing things in your normal life, being totally healed. See, your spirit is like ground. Your imagination is the seed for that ground/spirit. You sow seed in that ground by seeing yourself in those images as being whole. Start to see you healed. It will be hard at first; keep doing it, it will get easier, and you will begin to see yourself doing what you can’t do in real … yet. Your spirit sees your images and will start trying to make them come true, just like the ground will start to try to grow everything.

As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.
What does think mean? Believe, imagine, reflect, meditate, and contemplate. Imagine means visualize, envision, vision, image, dream, see in your minds eye, and picture. You are what you think/imagine/meditate on. You will have what you think about/meditate on/set your imagination on.
