Most gentle Power, flame of Light,
   Your dark hour defeats the Night.
Your folly shames the wisdom of man,
   leaving the hundred, You seek the one lamb.

Your word is clean, in heat, refined.
You save the mean, heal the blind.
Your hand reached out, healing the leper,
  revealing the spirit behind the Letter.

I cannot know You, my heart is small.
You show You're true. I heard the call.
By Your Spirit, You show me Your frame.
I having heard, named Your good Name.

Your word incised, cutting bone and flesh.
I have repented, my sin addressed.
I only came, cut by Your sword.
I have thus claimed, "Jesus is Lord."

Most gentle Power, the Day for Night,
   when I am wrong You are my Right.
Best thing about me, the wine in this cup,
   setting me free, to take this cup up.

See the Love in its facets of Grace,
   see the blood on His shredded face.
Believe the rise of Victory,
   cleaving Time and History.
