(called 'simplex' because it's not as complicated as it sounds)

From the lodestone flows a bleep,
A high-strung little twitter peep
Of static, quivering in his ear,
Distorted waves of wacky fear.

A maze of signals intertwined
Bombards his brain and dulls his mind.
A proper balance he can't find.
With conversations on rewind.

Where does this buzzing sound come from
That throws his equilibrium
Into a sea-sick ocean ride
Upon a rough and roaring tide?

Un-stuff your ears and you will know
From whence the deadly voice does grow.
Attend my tale and you will see
What evil wraith disturbs his tree.

Within the land "Forget-God-yes"
There stirs a cauldron of distress.
Dark vapors from an unclean pot
Arise like shadows, dark and hot.

They take the shape of harmless birds
Which fill the air with dreamy words,
A sappy mix of wistful cheeps,
"Nag-net-tick" tunes and magic beeps.

Crowing roosters, pecking hens,
Smooth sapsuckers, gossip wrens,
Are just a few melodic birds
That hypnotize with careless words.

Swift-gliding swallows charge the air
With undercurrents of despair.
Turned inside-out and upside-down,
They twirl their "chirpies" through the town.

These little birds will "vacuum suck"
The life out of a sitting duck.
Conveyed on winds of subtle doubt,
Their sound waves scatter all about

Directly from the chirpy funnel
tsunami-style throughout the tunnel,
Where they pull and push and tug
To move faith's mustard seed so snug

From off the eardrum (its rightful place)
Into the dark of outer space,
Thus bringing no fruit to fruition.
But don't let that birth superstition

In your heart or in your mind.
Pay attention and you'll find
It's not that hard to keep those birds
From stealing God's faith-building Words.

It simply takes determination
To halt each vain imagination.
Ignore the doorbell and cell phone
And spend some time with God alone.

Meet with those who live a life
Free from gossip and from strife.
Emulate the good examples.
Of charity take many samples.

Every thought to Christ take captive,
Thus keeping your faith interactive
With the one from whom it flows.
Bop each blackbird on the nose!

If those Chirpies have you down,
Embrace God's light, swifter than sound.
Resist the devil, he will flee.
You'll hear the Lord's voice right on key.
