Mothers are like snowflakes…no two alike
But in one thing they are all in agreement
White or black…from Boston to Bangladesh
They look at themselves and regret
That they didn’t do enough nor do it well

But in this they are all of them mistaken
Because it is not we but our children
That will judge us
Not what was done or undone…said or unsaid
But the man or woman who stands before us
That is the final word

When I look at our daughter:
In her laughter I see your joy
In her empathy I see your mercy
In her smile I see your beauty
In her words I hear your intelligence
And in her prayers I see your faith!

Could you have done more? Of course!
Could you have said more? Undoubtedly!
But what was done and said has produced
A woman of strength and grace and beauty,
A woman like You!
