Jesus was co-creator of the entire universe, the Son of the living God…the Prince of heaven and commander-in-chief of the multitude of the heavenly host. He gave it all up to become the most vulnerable of all creatures: a human baby, dependent on his mother’s breast for sustenance, and his carpenter father for protection. By His example, His teaching and the sacrifice of His life, He led us back to the Father. And what are we willing to do for Him in return: Follow Him? Obey Him?…Trust Him?… Worship Him?… Witness to His love and mercy? Even if we did all this with commitment and constancy, we would fall far short of all He’s given to us. Yet should we not do at least this? Yes…a thousand times yes, and with grateful hearts for the opportunity! Cast off the enemy’s lies about the importance of our own comfort and plans. Ignore his deception that when we share God’s love we’re forcing our religion on others. Say no to Satan and his promises to give you the desires that self demands. Instead, with joyful and thankful hearts, kneel in the blood shed for your salvation and look into the eyes of the One who knows and loves you like no other, and pledge your trust and devotion to He who gave all He had so you could become all you could be. Say yes to your Lord, your Brother, your King and the Lover of your soul. Then and only then, will His kingdom come, on earth as it is in heaven.
