Did you not know that your mind can be a enemy
that lives and stays with you each day
Thoughts be looming when you face each morning
feeding you with words in what to say

Now you may didn't ask or invite them in
and was innocent through the night
But still they crawled in the bed beside you
bringing things rather wrong or right

You can have good thoughts as pure as gold
a mind to do good in every way
But we must realize it's has to do with the flesh
and that is why we have to pray

Bad thoughts can work in the best of people
so it's no room left to boast and brag
It never stops, it works around the clock
trying ways to capture you in a snag

You would think it's over when you retire at night
looking forward to have a good sleep
But before you hit the bed something pops up
oh it has so many ways to creep

Sometimes it has help that's least expected
not having time to use your smarts
And the negative thinkers, did zoom right in
and then the thoughts began to start

But, thank God for grace and mercy, does show up
so to help one's, to clear the line
By giving to us his words of perfection
that will lease what's in our mind

We have to fight everyday to keep his peace
and to pray that he seals our heart
For certain things will come as long as we live
but it's ok, long as we do our part
