"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." - 1 John 4:18

How much does the Father love us? Since God is infinite so must be His love. Jesus mentioned in His prayer in John 17 that the Father loves us as He does His own Son (John 17:20-23). Therein lies the challenge to trust Him, because while His love is infinite, our natural trust is finite.

Are we so challenged, having the challenge come to light when we are afraid to look at ourselves as through the Father's eyes? There should be no fear, but I fear we are daunted to examine ourselves in the light of Truth, His Truth; the only Truth. (John 14:6).

Such fear is an offense to the love audaciously declared by God's Word. I would say we need to weep and howl for the misery of that fear that keeps us from seeing where we need to go to be pleasing to the One who loves us so audaciously, so infinitely.

I refer to something Paul once said in Romans 8:38-39

"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

May we be so "persuaded" to have such a Love-born courage...
