What is This Strange Feeling?

What is this strange feeling I've been having all day? The psalmist often spoke of having a heavy heart. I am aware that another's prayer burden often feels like this, and I have plenty of my own.

I believe that our spirit can be praying while we are doing other things, but I am also aware that I have not been happy on my job for quite awhile. Do I have to wait to figure this out or can I know now?

Peter talks about feeling that some strange thing is happening, in I Peter 4:12.

"Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you." That's the NIV. Yeah, maybe that's it. I'll just have to be patient.

Do I always have to know what the Spirit is doing? I would like to, but the Word says in Proverbs 3:5-6 not to "lean on my own understanding." Is that what I'm trying to do? Probably, I've been known to do that.

I've had this feeling when God was moving me from one place to another, as in a different job. I have certainly been praying for that and looking for a different job. There are things about this job next week I'm not looking forward to and need God's help getting through them.

There are things I need to pray about. Paul said to pray with the Spirit and to pray with the understanding. Where did he say that?

"What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also." That's the KJV.

I praise the Lord because He always gives me a melody in my heart. That's Ephesians 5:19. As long as I have that, I will not be afraid and I will not worry. That's Matthew 6:34 and Psalm 23:4.

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." That's KJV.

I love you, Lord. You are always with me. You never leave or forsake me. You want me to develop faith. Faith sometimes feels weird while it's growing, like my spirit is sprouting dendrites, like the brain, reaching out, growing, connecting.

I don't know exactly what it is. Maybe it's the creative process, besides all the rest of those things I mentioned. Maybe I'm learning, maybe I'm growing, maybe God is stretching me. I'm going to let Him.

I know I have a problem with a co-worker that I can't fix. Maybe that's it. I'm going to let God fix it. I know He can. He's done it before. I'm going to give it to Him and have a nice weekend.

I like that ending!
