His Grace is Sufficient

Do you wonder what you are going to do in these tough economic times? Are you having a real struggle because of the lack of money, jobs, or some essentials? Let me say, You can make it! His grace is sufficient!

I am reminded of the disciples when they were in the ship with Jesus in Mathew 8:23-26. The storms and waves came and crashed down upon the ship and it was filled with water. The disciples thought that they would perish; yet Jesus was asleep. Are the waves of life crashing in on you? Does it look like you will perish as nothing seems to be working out? Well, take heart. The problem is not the waves. You are just sitting in the wrong end of the ship.

The Word says that we are complete in Him. As humans we tend to look at things from a temporal natural perspective. God on the other hand is looking from an eternal perspective. We get focused on the temporal so easily. We seem to think that money, houses, jobs, and creature comforts are life. Yet this is really an untrue belief that we have been duped by the world and enemy to believe. The Bible says that it is the Spirit that gives life. If you have ever been in God’s presence then you will understand what I am saying. When in His presence all of the cares and worries and fears, seem to just vanish. We find our self very content and complete. We are so happy to just be near Him. We don’t even think to ask things that we thought we would ask, as they are not a concern anymore.

The storms we face are really for a purpose. They cause a focus change in our hearts. They cause us to cry out to Him. We learn that the greatest thing that we can ever possess and the true riches are Jesus and His presence alone. Jesus is trying to get us to go to the end of the ship where He is. We also can sleep in the storm. We just need to go where He is. Years ago the Holy Spirit told me this. “Focus on the problem, it will never get solved…Focus on Me, you will find that it was not really a problem at all”. Because the Lord is much more concerned about the eternal, He allows these storms. He wants us to know and be complete in Him alone. He is faithful to take care of our needs. We may not get our wants that unfortunately we think are our needs, but are really just things that satisfy our flesh. Jesus will not let us drown. He will not allow the waves to overtake us.

I want to encourage you to seek His presence. Change the focus from the problem to just entering into His presence. Do those things, which draw you closer to Him. As it says in Hebrews 12: lay aside every weight and sin that so easily besets you and run the race that is set before you. We get weighted down so easily by things that we think are our life, that we miss true life, intimacy with Him. It is time to get into praise and worship. It is time to lay down the weights. It is time to cast our cares upon Him. It is time to learn to be like Paul, content in whatever state that we are in. Circumstances should never dictate our peace. Peace comes as the fruit of the Spirit, so the closer we can get to Him, peace will be in us. True our flesh may not like the lack, but does God not say that they, which are in the flesh, cannot please him? Who do we desire to please?
I pray that you will allow the Holy Spirit to draw you into a deeper relationship with Him. You will be glad that you did, as you will not be moved any longer by circumstances. The waves won’t cause you fear anymore. You will be able in Him to sleep when the winds and storms of life come crashing upon you. Take heart. You can win! He paid the price already for you so that you could. His grace is sufficient!
