News Flash: The Bible never encourages us to live for Jesus. So if one finds themself saying, "I can't live for Him!" they are on the right track.

Galatians 2:20 mentions the possibility of Christ living through us, while our will dies or submits to His. Prayer is not for us. It is for the Christ dwelling in us. It is the Son communing with His Father through prayer just as He did in Jerusalem all those years ago.

Jesus Himself said we could not live for Him (John 15:5b). If we seek to live for Him we are trying to do something when it should, and it will be, nothing. It is living in the flesh. Yet as we let Him live through us we have the opportunity of dining with Him and the Father. We are permitted to commune with the triune God! (John 14:15-18, 23).

Two things are required: 1. Love Him, 2. Love His Word. It is that simple, yet not easy. This even has to happen as a work of the Lord's Spirit and that will only happen if we invite Him to do this work in us.

Invitation implies a desire for a relationship with God.

We will, and do now, get many things from being God's child. The one thing we will not get from the Godhead is credit. The rewards we will gain will result from our faith in His guidance and presence through His word.

It comes down to two choices: pursue the credit and take His glory from Him, or let Him live in us as He desires.
