“Keeping Scores”



Possibly one of my regrettable attributes was a while back then when I had kept scores with people. Be as a friend or a family member, I have kept scores at all the time.

“If you do this for me, I will do that for you” kind of score keeping… And of course if things did not pend out as I wanted it, it went on a score sheet “against” the individual. Maybe you have also a few score sheets hidden somewhere?



Family whom are in the past managed to hurt me, I was glad to keep my scores, or amongst my friends when talking to each other was no longer important I was the first one to remain silent as well, since silent treatment needs to work both ways and scores remained just being kept. And keeping scores are a waste!



“Keeping Scores”



Well, without understanding as to how I was able to get out of this mind set, (hence today I acknowledge that it Was/Is The Lord’s Work) God Has Brought several people into my life with whom it was just impossible to keep scores. I have met with the sick for so many years but no scores were kept, met with people and their addictions. And with their beautiful faiths of holding onto God for deliverance but no scores again… Held little babies in my arms, babies which were just a few weeks old and they have never known their parents, till today. Or the one baby who was found in a dustbin being just a few weeks old…what scores I should ask, right? Yes, there are just no scores to count or to keep. But where is the Wisdom to learn how not to keep scores in our lives? Keeping scores shall take Love away…but true Love will keep any score sheet clean.



And The Lord Said:



“My Boy, I Have Carried a wooden Cross but not because I was a Carpenter but because I Have never Kept Scores.”
