How to tell a child his daddy’s dead
I rather be the one who is dead instead
I called my pastor he told me there is time and place
But I knew with this I couldn’t bare to see his face

I struggled in my mind for what seemed days
But it was only a hour or two
Then the little boy knew
He came to me and to my dismay

With eyes wide and bright
He told me of the light
He told me Curtis was in heaven and had both his feet
And all I could do was listen and weep

At the time I didn’t know
How only Jesus could show
I talked to everybody but him
But the little boy let him in

But I didn’t have to say
My father told him a different way
In a dream so real and sweet
His daddy had both his feet

This is why I believe
This truly happen to me
Thank you Father in this time of need
Thank you for Vincent and me
