A man was very tired. Something was tormenting his mind. What was it? He himself could not say anything about his mental torture. But sure it should be something about his family.

His wife had left him a few days back. He could not convince her in any way. She was very adamant in her stand and finally left him saying goodbye for ever. He roamed about here and there. But the more he was feeling haunted. At last he went to a church. He was sitting there for sometime.

As he was sitting in the church, he saw a small boy coming into the church and going straight to the altar. He knelt in front of the altar and was praying. He spent sometime there and was returning with a smiling face.

How could this little boy smile? The man was wondering. He should be below ten years only. His dress showed him to be from a poor family. But he seemed to be very familiar to the church. He thought by helping this boy he could find some solace.

He waited until the boy crossed his pew, and he followed him.
“Hello honey, whose son are you?”
The boy’s smile changed. He lowered his head and a tear drop rolled down his cheek. Then he raised his head and said with some hesitation.
“Uncle, I am an orphan. I have no father or mother.”

The man felt sorry for the little boy and said, “Would you like to be my son?”
The looked at him and said, “If I get hungry, will you feed me?”
“Will you help me if I am thirsty?”
“Sure, you need not worry about anything”
“If I am naked will you clothe me?”
“Definitely”
“If I fall sick, will you heal me, uncle?”
“I cannot heal you; but I can take you to a hospital.”
“What about if I die, will you bring me back to life?”
“Definitely not! I cannot do that. I cannot give life.”
“Then I cannot come with you, uncle. The One Who created me gives me food and drink and everything I need. He heals me; he forgives me and loves me. I am least worried about anything. Thank you, uncle.” The little boy left the church.

“If God is my shepherd, why should I worry about anything?”
The man also left the church with a smiling face.
