Deep within. . . There is a yearning
A place, unsated and bare
Where, t'was a flame, thats ceased its burning
Leaving a dark, and cold spot there

When thought upon, it brings a shiver
A low . . . sad feeling, that forebodes
Love darts sent, have long lost their quiver
Leaving only, a burdensome load

Love, oh love. . .Will I ever, again find you
Will I know the thrill and rush
Could I forget past hurts, and start anew
With fate sending me, another brush

The coldness, sometimes. . .Isn't so bad
In comparison, to hurt and pain
That the broken heart feels, when so sad
It seems a challenge, of loss and gain

Yet. . .I think on the love and laughter
Those intimate, moments we did enjoy
If only they could have lasted. . .Forever after
Not tossed aside, like a worn out toy

But. . .I can't give up, it wouldn't be good
For a person, should have one to love
If it happens, and rightly, it should
I'll count my blessings, from above

Another day soon, love might pass by
And I will weigh, the pro and the con
Perhaps new love darts, will bring a sweet sigh
Lighting a flame, that will . . .Continue on !
