Parents are, both from a practical and biblical standpoint, to discipline their children. Some parents have in the past, always believed in spanking. But, we all know there seems to be much less emphasis on this today, particularly because our society has too often put it into the category of child abuse.

There is a correct way and an incorrect way to spank a child, one is abuse; the other is not. To do it properly have the child bend over and grab his or her knees. The paddle or belt will hit only on the buttocks, which is a slab of muscle, and no harm will be done. But, if you allow the child to stay standing straight up then there is too much chance of striking a bone, which would be abuse. If you are a parent that believes in spanking, do it, but make sure you do it correctly.

I used to work in a Christian school a long time ago, and this is how it was explained to me. Right or wrong?
