Life is a series of moments.
When we look back and see life through the hour-glass of our own time here on this earth – what do our lives look like? What shape do they take, in the mirror of the mind?
It seems to me, that life is like a flower.
It starts off as a seed, and then it grows and flourishes and is remarkable for a while, and then it begins to wither; then it fades away and dies.
Luckily for us though, there’s a God!
With the patience of a gardener, He watches us grow in the soil He’s prepared, He tends us with His careful, loving hands (prunes a little here and there!), and if we listen, He helps us shape our lives.
Sure, there’ll be a little rain every now and then, but only to match the sun, for as every flower knows, the rain is just as necessary as the sun, if it is to grow – and, after all, the purpose of this life here, is to grow.
We must be beautiful and strong, and faithful and honest; we must devote ourselves to others – we must love.
And if we do, then that flower will never really wither or let go – it’ll blossom into the eternity of God’s heaven and rejoice, that to the God above, it was always true.
