Blessed are the poor, those poor in spirit,
wealth is yours as you found Heaven's door.
Blessed are the mourning souls this minute,
comfort's yours, love's the cure.

Blessed are the meek in preparation.
Earth herself is your inheritance.
Blessed are the righteous ones, the faithful,
cups are filled, as are plates.

Blessed are the merciful, obtaining
their own gift, itself is their reward.
Blessed are the pure in heart, remaining
so assured. God is yours.

Blessed are the peacemakers, the children
grow to live their own philosophy.
Blessed are the persecuted sentenced
by their own hearts' belief.

And I am blessed by Jesus' calling
every sunkissed early morning.
As sure as I am standing here today.
He is with me in my prayers.
