I must ask the question, really I must…. Are we really sure this is what we want? What I mean is this….
Having ordered an evening pizza, a prompt delivery was promised.
And sure enough, before I knew it…. Wala! One fresh/hot pizza pie! Arrived…
After paying and adding a generous tip…. I began to wonder….
How did the delivery person get here so fast? What was done for my convenience? How many stop signs were ignored? How many red lights ? and what of the speed limit?
Whose safety was jeopardized? And what habits was the delivery person developing …. All to give me one hot pizza. I mean were not talking life & death issues here…. No emergency…. Just hunger.
Are we indirectly rewarding poor/bad behavior, in the name of convenience? Is this something we want to encourage?
How do we strike a balance between rewarding good old fashioned work ethic…. And discouraging rule breaking ( cheating ) or outright laziness?
Some might say…. If it’s a problem… go and get your own pizza
Others might say …. Learn to eat your pizza cold! lol
But as Christians…. We are very aware of the sin nature in us….
The nature that needs to die… not be…. Should we say…. Accepted…. And definitely not rewarded
It’s subtle… the nature of sin…. It loves to package itself as something good!
Guaranteed fresh/hot delivery!
Note…. This is a fictional situation…. Only meant to spur thought
