GOD VS. RELIGION:

Many Christians confuse religion and God. Somebody said “religion is what happens after God leaves the building.” God is NOT doctrines, rules, facts, information, regulations, rigidity, obedience, processes or being good enough. You cannot understand God by logic, reason, thinking, analyzing, comparing or figuring out. In Eden, the sin was to choose the Tree of KNOWLEDGE of Good and Evil. Sin and addiction are not logical, but logic often leads to the wrong conclusions. We cannot analyze God and reach the right conclusions. God is bigger than any human logic.

For example, in Eden the snake was on the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil – the same tree Jehovah told humans not to eat from. This snake could talk, so it made it appear that eating from the forbidden tree had enhanced the snakes ability. Are you going to believe what the “facts” look like, or are you going to believe the Word of God? In Noah’s day the Almighty said he would bring a flood on the earth to destroy the society He had created. However, it had never rained on earth before, so this threat sounded like science fiction. So are you going to believe what the “facts” look like, or are you going to believe the Word of God? In John the Baptist’s day a woman from Nazareth was pregnant , but she said she was a virgin. Mary said an angel told her the Holy Spirit would conceive the Messiah in her. The local people laughed at what they said was her hanky-panky. Are you going to believe what the “facts” look like, or are you going to believe some ones account of the Word of God?

The other tree in Eden was the Tree of LIFE. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life to a sinful world. Truth isn’t doctrines, it is the Word Incarnate. Christ is GOD in the flesh. Jesus will have a personal relationship with you – and He guides each person’s life slightly differently. He IS revealed in life, spontaneity, revelation, education, growth, experiences, our intentions, mercy and grace. Jesus often used parables and word pictures to illustrate the great principles of truth.
