At “Christian” schools bikes have to be paddle locked, desks and lockers have to be secured and the doors for school rooms have to be fastened. It is the same way at churches - the rooms, offices and supplies have to be locked up. When the offering is counted, two people are in the room because we understand the temptations that are common to humanity. Yet the command against theft and stealing is very clear. And the idea that someone would steal from the “House of God” or from the Almighty Himself is deplorable. People believe God sees everything, don’t they? At least that is what they say - so how can they justify stealing from God? Then there is the matter of tithe – and how many steal from God with their finances? Do they think He won’t know - or that He doesn’t care about integrity? We have to have cleaning deposits for our “Christian” dormitories and apartments. Yet responsibility is a basic teaching of Christianity - so how can we be so far off the mark in our education - that students don’t learn the most basic of things – like accountability? Then there is our church services. Churches often have to hire people as organists, pianists, custodians and landscapers - because members don’t feel any obligation to care for the things of this God who offers such amazing grace...yes, the problems of Christianity are not without the body, the biggest problems are within.
