A work of fiction must be doctrinal correct [in relation to the BIBLE] Spiritual Discernment is a requirement—it is not an OPTION
This book, The Shack represents the trinity of God—
The author is deliberately theological
Theology does not serve fiction—
Fiction must serve theology

The Shack is marketed as a spiritually transforming book
However, in the Christian life, discernment is a requirement—
Spiritual discernment is not an option for Christians

The Shack personifies conversations between the main character—
A man named Mack and three persons who
Represent a version of the Trinity—
The answer to the confusion is not to ban The Shack—
We need not fear books —
We must be ready to answer them
We need to look at the doctrinal dangers of The Shack—
Spiritual Discernment is a requirement—it is not an OPTION

Someone may ask, “Could not this book lay the foundation for seeking a growing relationship with God based in the Bible?”
Yes it could—this may be possible
However, in light of the errors, the potential
For going astray is as great as the potential for growth!
Spiritual Discernment is a requirement—it is not an OPTION

“The author description of God as a black woman or a white man
Continues to fuel stereotypes of God that in the end only
Confuse for many of what God is like and who he is”
Therefore when we write theological fiction
It is important that we stay close to the boundaries of the BIBLE

The Shack lowers the centrality of Jesus Christ
Jesus says,” I have no desire to make them Christian” (p.182)
“I don’t create institutions—never have, never will.”The institutions of the church, government and marriage are the “man-created trinity of errors that ravages the earth and deceives those I care about...It’s all false (p.179)
“The father, the Spirit, and Jesus were together at the cross and together were crucified (p.95-96,102,222)
God cannot send any of his children to an eternity of hell just because
They sin against him (p.162)
Spiritual Discernment is a requirement—it is not an OPTION
